5 fun and easy breakfast options for woman (and men!) who are busy in the morning, or busy in general
Everyone wants to be productive, focussed and ticking things off the to do list but by the time you hit burn out stage this can be really hard
If I get a good breakfast in I'll get a good couple of hours of work. Bye bye unproductivity,
Each recipe is super quick and packs a nutritional punch - there's kale, spinach, berries, nut milks plus a bunch of superfoods
Stick with quick easy recipes like these, especially when you're busy, because if things get overcomplicated and 'too hard' they tend not to happen
Choose breakfasts that you can prepare ahead like chia puddings and smoothies, so you can just grab and go in the mornings
My weekly breakfast plan looks something like this - Sunday night I prepare a smooth for Monday and Tuesday breakfasts, Wednesday is peanut butter or avocado on toast, Wednesday night I whip up more smoothies or chia puddings fro Thursday and Friday. Easy!
Get ready for people to comment on your green smoothies! I've been making smoothies for years and the same people are still commenting on them... It'll happen!
Fresh ingredients are great but it's totally fine to use frozen stuff too (just check the label for any added nasties)
Try adding avocado to your smoothies if you're an avo fan like me
If breakfast isn't your strong game at the moment just pick one recipe and practise it a few times until you've got it down pat, then move onto mastering the next recipe. Before you know it you'll be a natural!
I've written a free ebook, which has all these recipes, just for you!
ACTION STEPS
Make a weekly breakfast plan (steal mine if you like!)
Practise makes perfect and takes the pressure off. Just start with one easy breakfast
Try my recipes this week:
Green smoothie - blend up handful of spinach and kale leaves, lemon juice, banana, frozen or fresh mango, chia seeds, coconut water, green powder, maca powder. Make enough for 2 smoothies and pop them in airtight jars in the fridge (2 days max). Drink on the way to work or at your desk!
Avocado on toast - pop a couple of slices of sourdough (or whatever bread you like) in the toaster, spread on some avo, add a squeeze of lemon, salt, pepper and chilli flakes. Easy!
Chia pudding - add 1/3 cup of chia seeds to a mason jar and fill up with almond milk (or whatever liquid you like). The next day top with yoghurt and fruit. This is the best in summer time, especially with mango - it's like a tropical holiday in a jar. Again you can make a double batch and keep it in the fridge for 2 days.
Non-green smoothie - because not everyone wants to drink spinach... Blend up a banana, 1 cup of blueberries, milk and a spoonful of peanut butter.
Peanut butter on toast - it might seem a bit silly and easy but don't knock it! Pop your favourite bread in the toaster and spread on some natural peanut butter. Make sure you get natural peanut butter - read the label and make sure the only ingredients are peanuts and maybe a little salt, watch out for added sugar, oils and preservatives.
