What is 'noise'? It's all the other commitments, the chores, the people asking you to do things, the demands on your time.
These demands build up and become overwhelming, then they sap your strength and ability to say 'NO!'
Without the strength to say no you can easily become burnt out, the less you say no the more you say yes to burn out.
It's important to work on building your strength to say no but you can also ask for help and support from your friends and loved ones
A burnt out babe is not the babe you want to be putting out in the world. Think about what kind of babe you want to be and how she projects herself.
Turning down the noise for now is just for now (or for however long you need), it doesn't mean saying no forever.
Anyone can get burnt out - it's not just lawyers working a million hours a week and crazy busy mums. Women just like you and me can burn out.
ACTION STEPS
Let your trusted friends and family know when you need support and how they can support you.
Look at your commitments and the demands on your time and energy to see which ones can be put on pause for now and which ones you can say no to.
Look at ways to turn down the noise - could you do an evening yoga class instead of smashing it at the gym each morning? Can you postpone or cancel weekend plans in favour of a donna-day?
Practice saying 'NO!' (in kindest and most loving way possible).
Remember not to feel guilty or ashamed for burning out - it happens to all of us.
