When you're in burnout it's not uncommon to go on holidays but your experience can be inhibited by the fact you're already burnout
If you're not burnt out before your holiday you'll have a much better experience
Be organised and have a plan! Especially it it's going to be a 'busy' holiday. Don't leave your to do list until a week before you leave
Sort your money out. Have you budgeted for your holiday? Have you done your currency exchange?
Do a practice pack the week before so you can see if you're missing anything or need to cut back on luggage
Once you're on holiday make sure you do at least one activity day just for yourself. Maybe you want to spend the morning walking around the resort, or getting a massage, or just sitting by the pool and reading to fill your cup up
Try not to do things that you don't want to do. Obviously if you're on a group holiday or with your partner you'll need to compromise but you don't want to spend your whole holiday doing activities you don't want to do
Try and take an extra couple of days of leave before and after your vacation so you can phase into holiday mode and out of holiday mode without stress
Make sure you're rested before you actually go on holidays so you're not too burnt out to enjoy yourself
ACTION STEPS
Get organised ahead of time and make a to do list of the all the things you need to do before you leave (new hair, new wardrobe, vaccinations etc)
Get your finances sorted out before you leave
Book a couple of extra days of leave before and after your holidays
Cut back on extra engagements before you leave so you have a chance to rest and energise before you go on holidays
